Visit of the Resguardo Cañamomo Lomaprieta, October 18-20, 2018

Within the framework of the Regional Meeting of Indigenous Peoples in Latin America of CICADA and the TICCA Consortium, a special visit to the community of Portachuelo, located in the Cañamomo Lomaprieta Indigenous Reserve of Riosucio, Caldas, Colombia, was also organized prior to this main event. With the help and support of Héctor Jaime Vinasco, project coordinator of the Cañamomo Lomaprieta Resguardo, the participants of the visit were able to familiarize themselves with the territory, the traditions, and the current problems that the community faces today.

Thursday, October 18th

13:00 – Arrival to the municipality of Riosucio

14:00-19:00 – Arrival to the Portachuelo community

– (15:30)          Welcome and orientation, spiritual harmonization, dance and traditional hornpipe

9:30-13:00 – Meeting with the Resguardo’s authorities  

–          Salutations by Portachuelo’s governess Arnobia Moreno Andica
–          Salutations by Cabildante of Portachuelo, Alexander Hernández
–          Salutations by Colin Scott, Director of CICADA
–          Salutations and introducions from other assistants.
–          Coffee break (30 minutes)
–          Presentation of the Resguardo’s current context by the elders:
