CICADA is composed of 5 distinct research programs: Arctic Domus, BESS, E4A, I-CAN and INSTEAD.  Each program is comprised of its own active research projects. Several independent projects also participate in CICADA. CICADA projects are organized along seven thematic axes and four geographic regions.
